Mr. W. de Vries
Willem de Vries is specialised in inheritance law, employment law, real estate and disciplinary law. Due to his broad practical knowledge, empathy and years of experience, he is a sought-after sparring partner for clients and colleagues. As a member of the council of the local bar and the local bar president, Willem de Vries was active in the board of The Hague local bar for many years. Particularly in this capacity, he has built up a great deal of expertise in advising and mediating in business and other conflicts. The combination of practical and management experience and his many years of experience as a deputy district court judge in Delft (since 1994) make him a thorough, versatile lawyer, a 'trusted adviser'. Willem regularly represents client in court. Advocating is in his blood, but his motto is 'litigate if necessary, settle if possible'.
Willem started in 1978 at Pels Rijcken & Droogleever Fortuijn in The Hague, where he was a partner from 1984 to 2006 and the deputy state lawyer from 1996 to 2006. In 2006 he joined Krans & van Hilten Advocaten as a partner which later became Van Hilten Advocaten & Mediators.
As of 1 November 1 2020, Willem has become affiliated with ScheerSanders Advocaten, whereby Willem will continue his practice as an independent lawyer through ScheerSanders Advocaten in The Hague.
Willem is a member of the Association of Tenancy Lawyers (VHA). Willem is married and has four children.
Register of legal areas Dutch Bar Association
Willem has registered the following areas of law in the register of legal areas of the Dutch Bar Association:
- Employment law;
- Tenancy law;
- Inheritance law.
On the basis of this registration, he is required to obtain 10 training points in each principal area of law each calendar year in accordance with the standards of the Dutch Bar Association.
